Images, camera frames and decoded contents are processed only in this browser. They are not uploaded, stored, logged or sent to an external decoding service.

Scan or read a QR code from an image, photo or screenshot

You do not need a second phone just because the QR code is already on your screen. Paste a screenshot directly, or choose an existing image or photo, and the scanner/reader will try to decode it in your browser.

The decoded content is shown first. Opening a URL is a separate action, so you can inspect what the QR actually contains before choosing to navigate to it.

If the image will not decode

A failed scan does not necessarily mean the payload is gone. Cropping, low resolution, poor contrast or a damaged quiet zone can stop an otherwise valid QR being read.

Practical guidance

Pause before opening a scanned result

A scanner can reveal what a code contains, but it cannot promise that a destination is safe.

Check the whole destination

Read the hostname and the rest of the address before opening it. HTTPS encrypts a connection but does not prove a site is trustworthy.

Use a clear, complete image

Include the full square and its empty border. Cropping, blur, reflections and very small images can prevent decoding.

Treat unfamiliar types as text

Unsupported or potentially unsafe link schemes are shown without an action. Nothing opens automatically.
